Very nice cover art, David! But I have two questions...

1) Who is the artist, if you know? And
2) How does the story (book 3) end...? :-)

Hi David!

The cover artist is a guy named Tristan Schane, and you can see more of his work here:

As for how book three ends, I know that exactly! But that is not the end of the series. For some reason, even though I sent HarperCollins an outline for FOUR novels, they only gave me a contract for three. (And yes, I do know how book four ends too!)

Nice piece of work. It should really stand out from the shelves.
Interesting about the three/four books. Don't be surprised if they cajole you into turning the 4 into 3.
Mind you, I can talk - I'm writing book four now, and I'm also sitting on a three book contract ;-)
In another of those 'me too' moments, I just got the almost-final cover for the next Spacejock novel. Different artist, different style but it'll look striking on the shelf.
Anyway, enough of that. Congrats on the artwork, the contract and the continued progress through the publishing maze. And here's hoping for many more novels.

Hi Simon. Thanks. I like the cover for your book too!

As far as the three or four book thing goes, so far they haven't put any pressure on me. And I've made it worse by coming up with an idea for a FIFTH book while writing the second one! So we'll have to see how this plays out.

Hi Leslie,

The publication date I just got is March 28, 2006.

Nice looking book David! Best of luck upon publication. Sounds like Harper Collins really likes what your writing.

Thanks Robb! I don't have any reference point to know if this is more than they do for other first-time novelists, but I'm certainly not going to complain. It seems like a big push to me...
